- You might not need to buy another server for a year or two.
- Make your backups AND restores simple, automated and reliable.
- Upgrade, service and switch hardware without shutting down servers.
- Implement DR, or better yet Business Continuity, with servers configured to failover to alternate host hardware.
- Respond more quickly to requests for new servers.
- Finally implement a proper multi-tiered dev/test/staging/production environment.
